Before Questions

Q. Where Are You Based?

In Sudbrooke, Lincolnshire (LN2).

Q. Why Should I Choose David Lowerson Photography For A Dog Photoshoot?

Because you and your pet deserve a one of a kind experience with someone who truly understands how much you love your dog(s).

Because they sadly won’t be here forever and you don’t want to experience the regret of not having professional images of them.

Because I have been a dog owner myself for over 20 years.

Q. Do You Have Dogs?

Yes, I have been a dog owner for over 20 years. I that time I have been the proud owner of 4 German Shepherd dogs, including rescue dogs.

Q. How Long Is A Typical Photo Shoot session?

The length of every photography session is unique depending on your dog(s), but as a general rule the sessions are about 45-60 minutes.

Q. Do You Charge A Session Fee?

We do charge for the session as follows:

The shoot fee is £99 which includes a £50 photography product credit which can be used against any photography products at your viewing session.

The session fee doesn’t include any digital images, prints or products; these are purchased afterwards at your viewing.

You don’t need to commit to any packages or products until you’ve seen your photographs.

Q. I Have 2 Dogs, Can They Both Be In The Photoshoot?

Yes, I have photographed up to 5 dogs in one particular session. However, an extra pair of hands will be needed to ensure your dogs are safe and under control, so please ask someone to attend the photoshoot with you.

Q. Does My Dog Need To be Trained?

No, please don’t worry if your dog doesn’t have the best recall or attention span. My experience allows me to get the best picture from the most reluctant of dogs, but you will need to bring an adequate lead to prevent them from running off.

Q. Does My Dog Need To Be Off The Lead?

Not if you don’t want them to be, I have editing tools which helps me to remove leads from the picture during the final editing process.

Q. My Dog Is Really Nervous In Unfamiliar Surroundings Or New people – Will This Be A Problem For You?

I have photographed dogs with very different personalities over many years so please don’t worry. However, please bear in mind at during all of my sessions your dog(s) wellbeing is paramount. If your dog is nervous of strangers, new environments or strange sounds I will make time for them to settle before starting the photoshoot.

Q. Do You Take Black & White Images?

I capture all my dog photoshoots images in colour, but can produce a mixture of both colour and black & white if you prefer.

Q. Do You Have Insurance?

Yes, I have both professional and public liability insurance.

Q. Do I Need To Take My Dog To The Groomers Before The Photoshoot?

Only if it’s something you would normally do, but there’s no need for them to be groomed for their photoshoot.

Q. Do You Sell Gift Vouchers?

Yes, I can provide a gift voucher for any amount you would like towards a dog photoshoot with me.

On The Day Photo Shoot Questions

Q. Can I Be in The Photos?

Yes of course, there is nothing better than a photo with your best friend. As a family photographer too, I highly recommend it.

Q. What If It Rains On The Day Of The Photoshoot?

If we have rain or bad weather on the day of the photoshoot, I will call you so that we can reschedule and find another date which suits us both.

Q. What If I Need To Cancel My Photoshoot?

I understand that some circumstances are out of your control, but would appreciate as much notice as possible that you can’t attend. We can then try and reschedule the shoot. If the session has been rescheduled by you on multiple occasions this may result in an additional session fee.

Q. What Should I Bring On The Day Of The Photoshoot?

For Your Dog:
Some treats and their favourite toy(s)
Drinking water, poo bags and a lead, or harness if they usually wear one

For You:
Wear sensible outdoor clothing and footwear, which are appropriate for the woodland location we will be using for the photoshoot

After Your Photo Shoot Questions

Q. Do You Edit The Photos?

Yes, the images are fully edited. This is why it can take up to 2-3 weeks for your images to be ready to view.

Each photo can take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes to edit depending on how much work needs to be done i.e. removing the lead, people or objects in the background, etc.

Q. When Do I Get To See My Images?

Your viewing will take place about 2-3 weeks after the session, and will be done virtually via Zoom, a web based video conferencing tool. There is no need to arrange a face to face meeting and you will be sent a direct link to the Zoom session. If you have any questions about using Zoom, or are not familiar with it, please let me know.

Q. Choosing Your Images

Our challenge is to capture images you will fall in love with. Your challenge is to not fall in love with all of them.

We have portrait collections and also individual products to suit all clients budgets.

Q. What Products Do You Offer?

I offer picture frames in wood and metal along with digital files, folio boxes and loose print packages.

Q. How Long After We've Placed Our Order With You Do We Receive Our Products?

Products will be delivered to you approximately 4-6 weeks after you’ve placed your order.

Q. How Much Does The Average Client Spend After The Photoshoot?

To give you an idea of total costs, my clients spend anything from £200 to £950 on photography.

I also offer interest-free, flexible payment plans too.

Q. Will I Be Put Under Any Pressure To Spend After My Photoshoot?

No, absolutely not. I don’t give you the hard sell and my aim is for the images to sell themselves instead!

Please rest assured you don’t need to commit to purchasing any packages or products.

Q. Do You Offer Payment Plans?

I feel that a portrait is for life; a priceless memento of your dog and family to be cherished forever. You can spread the cost of your portraits over 3 – 12 months with our Interest-Free Finance option.

• Your order is complete once full payment is made

Booking Questions

Q. How Far In Advance Should I Schedule A Session With You?

Sessions should generally be booked at least a month in advance.

During the warmer months, and especially around the summer holidays, you may want to book your session earlier so that we can accommodate the date you want.

However, please contact me in the first instance as I may have a booking cancellation.

Q. What Forms Of Payment Do You Take?

I take all major credit and debit cards, Paypal, bank transfer and cash.

Q. How Do I Pay You For The Photoshoot?

For my dog photoshoots, you will be required to pay the full session fee to secure your chosen date and time.

This can be done over the phone or I can email an invoice with a booking link to you.

Q. What Is Your Cancellation Policy?

The booking fee is non-refundable or transferable in the event of a cancellation within 7 days of the photoshoot.

In the unlikely event that I am unable to attend a session for any reason, a rescheduled session will be offered. If this is not suitable, then a full refund will be made.
