Children’s Outdoor Photoshoots

Children’s Portrait Photographer

Children grow so fast – Blink a few times and they are no longer babies but teenagers with attitudes to match.

it’s so important to make sure you capture those precious moments in photographs as they grow. It’s a great way to hold onto those precious memories and to help them last forever, not only for your own enjoyment but for your children once they reach adulthood.

As a children’s portrait photographer and a parent, I want to make your photo shoot as memorable and as enjoyable as making memories should be. Children who are having fun are relaxed and carefree, and when this happens the camera can capture some truly magical shots.

As a parent you know that children who are told to sit still don’t tend to, which is why I firmly believe in capturing natural shots, rather than posed ones, to bring the real personality of your child out in front of the camera.

This ensures that the images I capture are your child as you know and love them, with all their little quirks and mannerisms encapsulated forever.

If you are looking for a children’s portrait photographer that captures the real essence of your child, then the sessions we offer are exactly what you are looking for.

The best photos are born from un-staged moments that capture your child happy, at play and relaxed so if you would like to learn more about our Child Portrait Photography, or you are ready to book your photography session then please do get in touch with us.

We can be reached on 01522 750407 during office hours or you can buy your photography session online by clicking on the book now button.

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time of the year to book an outdoor photo session?

The simple answer is any time! Each month of the year provides endless opportunities. Even the cold winter brings outstanding scenery. And, if we’re lucky, even snow!

Where will our portrait session take place?

I have a number of locations I can recommend near my home in Lincoln but if you & your children have a favourite place we can head there.

What time of day is best?

Outdoor sessions are usually scheduled late afternoon/evening or early morning in order take advantage of the best natural light. We’ll need to pick a time when your children are at their best.

What should we wear?

Simple, plain-coloured clothes tend to work best, as well as clothes with a subtle pattern.

It’s best to avoid bold stripes, big logos and checks as these don’t work well in pictures, and try not to have one half of the family dressed in white and the other half in black as the contrast in the images can be distracting.

What if it rains on the day?

If I decide on the day of the shoot that the weather is unsuitable then we can reschedule at no extra cost.

I have done portrait shoots in all kinds of weather and still achieved beautiful photos, so please don’t panic.

It’s a cliché, but photographers tend to prefer a dull overcast day to a bright sunny one when shooting portraits, as the light is often more flattering.

What happens if my child is ill?

If your child is ill, then I ask you to let me know as soon as possible so I can postpone your session. It’s much better to wait until they are feeling better and we can all have an amazing time taking your pictures.

How much is a location portrait session?

My standard 1-hour on location portrait session fee is £95.00.

When can we see our pictures?

Your images will be ready to view approximately two weeks after your session. I will invite you back to my home studio in Sudbrooke, where you will be able to see your images on a big screen.

Client reviews

From start to finish David provided an excellent photography experience.

My daughter and I were blown away by the end results and had a difficult task on choosing our favourite ones

David was amazing with my daughter, she loved her photo session in the outdoors. He is great with getting kids to enjoy the experience and it was so hard to pick photos at the showing as they were all brilliant.

There is no pressure to buy but when you see them its so hard not to. amazing day.
